The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) announced on Sunday that a low-pressure area (LPA) is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Weather specialist Veronica Torres indicated that while the LPA itself poses no immediate threat, its trough is already affecting several regions.

Weather Impacts on Mindanao and Surrounding Areas

Flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains would be even possible in these areas due to the trough of the LPA.

  • Affected regions include Mindanao, Palawan, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte.
  • Conditions may lead to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

In addition to the LPA's influence, the easterlies are expected to bring warm and humid conditions to the Bicol Region and Quezon province. Pagasa forecasts partly cloudy to overcast skies with the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in these areas.

Metro Manila and other regions will also experience similar weather patterns, primarily due to localized thunderstorms. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
