A low pressure area (LPA) is currently affecting Southern Luzon, bringing scattered rain and thunderstorms across the region. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reports that this weather system has prompted warnings for flash floods and landslides.

The LPA is expected to continue moving west northwest and may dissipate over the West Philippine Sea by early Thursday.

The LPA formed on July 28 from cloud clusters and is predicted to affect areas including Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and parts of Bicol and Western Visayas. The forecast indicates that localized thunderstorms may continue throughout the day, impacting areas not directly cited in the report.
In addition to the LPA, another system is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, located 1,755 kilometers off southeastern Luzon. This second LPA is not anticipated to enter PAR or develop into a tropical depression.
