The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) is currently assessing property damages from the severe flooding that occurred on July 24, 2026. At least two barangays, Talomo and Los Amigos, were significantly impacted.
Jocelyn Alcaria, the chair of Riverside barangay, reported that seven puroks, including Puroks 5 and 1-A, experienced extensive damage. She noted that some store floors collapsed, indicating the severity of the flooding.
The local government said Barangays Talomo and Los Amigos were among the hardest hit.

Local teams, including personnel from the City Fisheries Office, have been deployed to evaluate damages, particularly in Los Amigos, known as the city’s catfish capital.
Initial estimates suggest that damage may exceed P5 million, based on the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) conducted by the local government. This assessment is critical for allocating disaster funds, which are mandated to include a percentage of local government budgets.
As of July 27, the number of affected residents was expected to increase as personnel conducted door-to-door assessments. Tragically, one individual was reported dead after attempting to cross an overflowing creek.
Jessie Gahiles, a local catfish farmer, expressed concerns about the future of his livelihood, stating that the unpredictable nature of farming leaves them vulnerable.
In response to the flooding, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. plans to visit affected areas, including People’s Ville condominium in Riverside, to assess the situation.
