Tropical Storm Gardo, also known as Higos internationally, has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of June 25, 2026, and has already intensified into a severe tropical storm.
PAGASA reported that Gardo reached maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 115 km/h shortly after its entry.
At 10 PM on June 25, Gardo was approximately 1,275 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, moving north-northwest at 30 km/h.
Francisco Exits PAR
As Gardo enters, Severe Tropical Storm Francisco (Mekkhala) has exited PAR, located 705 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. Francisco is moving towards Japan's Ryukyu Islands.
Francisco did not make landfall but did cause moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of Northern Luzon.
