- Meat products imported from Brazil, India, and other regions.
- Facility conditions included rusty equipment and rodent presence.
The operation was executed by the Regional Special Operations Group of the Philippine National Police Region 3, alongside officials from the Food and Drug Administration and the National Meat Inspection Service.
During the raid, officials noted that the meat products emitted a foul odor, indicating spoilage. Investigators highlighted that improper storage temperatures could have contributed to the meat's condition.
Two arrests were made, including the facility owner, who may face charges under the FDA Act and the Consumer Act. The confiscated meat, deemed 'hot meat,' is set for destruction pending a court order.
Authorities urged consumers to exercise caution when purchasing meat, advising them to buy only from authorized sellers that comply with safety regulations.
