Tropical Storm Queenie (Surigae) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but is anticipated to remain well offshore. As of September 24, 2026, it was located approximately 1,205 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, moving northwest at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.

Potential Weather Impacts from Queenie's Trough

While Tropical Storm Queenie won't directly affect the Philippines, its trough or extension could trigger scattered rain and thunderstorms.

Although Queenie is not expected to make landfall, its trough may cause scattered rain and thunderstorms in areas such as Mindanao, the Negros Island Region, and parts of the Visayas. PAGASA warns that strong gusts could impact Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Sarangani over the next couple of days.
