Rainfall Forecast for Luzon
PAGASA's latest updates indicate a persistent weather pattern, with residents advised to remain vigilant. Floods and landslides have already impacted numerous areas, particularly in Metro Manila.
In Marikina City, the water level of the Marikina River reached 17.2 meters, nearing critical levels and prompting preemptive evacuations. The La Mesa Dam also breached its critical water level, raising concerns for nearby communities.
Tropical Storm Peilou Monitored
Meanwhile, PAGASA is keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Peilou, situated 2,200 kilometers east of Northern Luzon. Although it is moving away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility, it could intensify the ongoing southwest monsoon effects.
The weather bureau previously anticipated that two to four tropical cyclones might form or enter the Philippine area this August. To date, two have already occurred, resulting in fatalities and injuries across the affected regions.
Tropical Depression Maymay has left Isabela, but monsoon rains persist across Luzon, causing further disruptions.
