A Call to Action for Ocean Conservation

Bayanihan Para sa Karagatan — Together for Our Oceans

SM Cares
  • Simultaneous cleanup activities across 32 malls
  • Focus on diverting waste from seas and waterways
  • Main event at SM By the BAY for Manila Bay

This year's theme emphasizes the importance of collective action, encouraging individuals and communities to participate in safeguarding marine environments. SM Cares has actively engaged in the International Coastal Cleanup since 2015, previously mobilizing over 48,800 volunteers who collected more than 200,000 kilograms of waste in 2025.

The upcoming cleanup continues SM Cares' commitment to environmental stewardship, building on previous initiatives, such as the World Water Day and World Oceans Day events earlier this year, where 9,453 volunteers collected 24,244 kilograms of trash.

Participants can register via the SM Malls Online App, accessible through the App Store or Google Play. They can find the International Coastal Cleanup 2026 event and confirm their attendance easily.

This initiative goes beyond a single day of action, aiming to instill a sense of ongoing responsibility towards ocean conservation within communities.
