SM Supermalls is transforming the mall experience for Filipinos by creating spaces that cater to evolving lifestyles and community needs.

With foot traffic remaining strong and business flourishing, SM Prime Holdings Inc. reports that its malls are increasingly becoming lifestyle hubs, focusing on family, wellness, and leisure.

‘Filipinos kept showing up for family, passions, and the moments that matter,’ said Steven Tan, president of SM Supermalls.

Innovative spaces for modern shoppers

The mall operator has expanded significantly, introducing 86 pickleball courts across 29 locations, reflecting a growing interest in active lifestyles.

The new SM Seaside Cebu Arena adds to the entertainment landscape, accommodating up to 25,000 guests and hosting notable events like the launch concert of Filipino pop group BINI.

Additionally, SM has rolled out electric vehicle charging stations across 90 malls, aligning with the country's push for sustainable transport.

A culinary and cultural renaissance

To cater to diverse tastes, SM has revamped its Food Halls, showcasing local culinary delights and introducing international brands like San Ginés Chocolatería and Abercrombie & Fitch.

These initiatives not only enhance dining experiences but also support local businesses, reinforcing SM's commitment to community engagement.

Engaging consumers through cultural events

SM's innovative marketing campaigns, such as 'Gala to the Max,' encourage community storytelling and have garnered millions of views.

Events like the HistoEx 2026 expo celebrate Philippine history, while various pop-up experiences cater to fandoms, enhancing the cultural fabric of the mall experience.

As SM continues to evolve, it aims to create personalized experiences that resonate with Filipino consumers, ensuring each visit feels unique.

The recent opening of SM Zamboanga and plans for an upscale mall in Nuvali demonstrate SM's ongoing commitment to expanding its footprint, ensuring that every Filipino has a space they can truly call 'My SM'.
