Holy Child College of Davao (HCCD) launched the Dabawenyo D.C.Plinado Modules for Private Schools on August 13, 2026, at its Jacinto Campus. This initiative aims to integrate discipline, character, and responsible citizenship into the educational framework of local private schools.

A Collaborative Approach to Education

The launching reflects the institution’s commitment to developing learners who embody the values of discipline, responsibility, service, and faith.

  • Support from the City Government of Davao and DepEd Davao Region
  • Focus on nurturing disciplined and responsible young citizens

The launch was more than a formality; it marked a united effort among schools, families, and local government to promote a culture of responsible citizenship and strong moral values. Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte was represented by Atty. Antoinette G. Principe, who emphasized the community's role in the initiative.

Support also came from the Department of Education (DepEd) Davao Region, with Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO III, represented by Chief Dodong Atillo. Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Reynante A. Solitario, CESO V, played a crucial role in the initiative's development.

HCCD's School President, Mr. Pol Allan D. Leuterio, along with board members, faculty, staff, and students, expressed their commitment to the program. The presence of representatives from the Davao Association of Private Schools and School Administrators (DAPRISSA) and the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (DACS) further highlighted the community's support.

In a broader context, this initiative addresses a historical concern in Philippine education regarding character development. As schools increasingly focus on academic performance, integrating ethical and civic education into curricula has become vital.

Through the Dabawenyo D.C.Plinado Modules, HCCD aims to cultivate a generation of Dabawenyos who exemplify responsible citizenship and strong moral values, contributing positively to society.
