The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced a series of enhanced security measures for public schools across the country. This decision follows a safety audit conducted by Education Secretary Sonny Angara at Parañaque National High School.

This audit is part of DepEd's larger School Safety Campaign, which aims to bolster security measures in light of increasing incidents of violence in educational institutions. During his visit, Angara evaluated the school's existing security protocols, including screening procedures and CCTV systems.
In discussions with parents, teachers, and students, participants voiced their support for stronger protective measures. They also highlighted the need for due process for teachers who may face allegations but have not been involved in any misconduct.
To enhance safety, DepEd is collaborating with the Philippine National Police and local government units to ensure effective responses to security threats. The department is also providing psychosocial support to affected students and conducting ongoing administrative investigations into alleged misconduct.
Angara emphasized the collective responsibility in safeguarding students, stating that the initiative reflects a united front in protecting learners and fostering a secure educational environment.
