GMA reporter Athena Imperial has officially lodged a complaint against former colleague Nico Waje, citing allegations of lascivious acts and gender-based sexual harassment.
Attorney Aloi Renz P. Santos of APS Law confirmed the filing but declined to share further details. He emphasized the importance of allowing the legal process to unfold.
Santos stated, "This case is now before the proper forum. We will therefore allow the process to take its course and will not discuss the merits beyond what is necessary to protect our client’s rights."
He also noted that another individual has filed a separate complaint but withheld details to respect their privacy.
In her statement, Imperial expressed that her decision to pursue legal action was not made lightly. She emphasized the need for advocacy for those who cannot yet speak out.
This was not an easy decision. It took time, reflection, and support from the people closest to me before I found the courage to come forward.

Imperial reiterated her commitment to the legal system and urged the public to refrain from speculation during the ongoing legal proceedings.
Out of respect for the ongoing proceedings, I will refrain from discussing further details and ask the public to allow the proper authorities to do their work without speculation or prejudgment.
