The Philippine financial technology sector is stepping away from traditional meetings to engage in wellness activities. FinTech Alliance PH launched Sportstacular 2026, an initiative designed to promote health and collaboration among industry stakeholders.

A New Approach to Networking

Sportstacular 2026 seeks to enhance relationships in the digital finance community through fitness events. Lito Villanueva, Founding Chairman of FinTech Alliance PH, emphasized the importance of informal connections, stating, "An ecosystem becomes stronger when its members have opportunities to connect beyond their usual areas of work."

Sportstacular gives us that opportunity. It brings together people and organizations from different parts of the ecosystem through activities that promote wellness, camaraderie and collaboration.

Key Events Planned

  • Runtastic 2026: A community fun run scheduled for Sept. 27 at BridgeTowne, Pasig.
  • Paddle Forward: FinTech for Good Pickleball Cup Season 2: A two-day tournament on Oct. 24-25 at Astra PickleBall Center.

The initiative was formalized through a partnership signing with major entities, including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and other financial and regulatory organizations.

Building on Recent Success

This launch follows the successful ASEAN Tech Summit hosted in Manila, where thousands of leaders discussed innovations in digital finance. The summit showcased the Philippines' growing influence in the regional tech landscape.

FinTech Alliance's Impact

Since its founding in 2017, FinTech Alliance PH has grown to over 170 corporate members, representing more than 95% of the country's digital transaction volume. The organization is recognized for its proactive approach to industry standards and collaboration with government bodies.
