Cebu Pacific inaugurated its flagship training facility in Parañaque City on April 27, marking a significant investment in aviation training.

The 1,685-square-meter hub is equipped with advanced training tools, including Airbus A330 and ATR door trainers, cabin mockups, and emergency slide trainers.

This facility is designed to provide hands-on, scenario-based instruction for both inflight and ground procedures, crucial for the airline's operational safety.

Cebu Pacific CEO Mike Szucs emphasized the importance of this facility as a vital infrastructure that supports the airline's expansion strategy, particularly after its historic order of 152 aircraft.

We’ve got to make sure that we’ve got a continuous supply of excellently trained local Filipinos.

Mike Szucs, Cebu Pacific CEO

The training hub will primarily focus on cabin crew training, while pilot training will still partially occur at the airline's facility in Clark, Pampanga.

Chairman Lance Gokongwei noted that this investment reflects Cebu Pacific's commitment to safety, operational efficiency, and the development of Filipino talent.

Commitment to Excellence

Cebu Pacific is also enhancing its talent pipeline through initiatives like the revived Cadet Pilot Program, which provides structured training and job placement.

Currently, the training facility will be exclusive to Cebu Pacific employees, but the company aims to elevate industry standards across the Philippines.

With this facility, we also seek to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of aviation training standards in the Philippines.

Javier Massot, COO

The airline has ramped up cabin crew recruitment to support its growing network of 35 domestic and 26 international destinations.

Despite challenges posed by rising operating costs, Szucs remains optimistic about the future, labeling the training academy as a long-term investment.

This is an investment for the next 25 years. The end game is there’s a great future for the Philippines, a great future for Cebu Pacific.
