The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has announced that 100 of its branches are now powered entirely by renewable energy. This initiative aims to bolster the bank's commitment to sustainability and reduce its carbon footprint.
According to reports, 30 of these branches are part of the Retail Aggregation Programme, which allows BPI to procure electricity directly from certified green energy suppliers.
Transitioning the operations of 100 BPI branches to use fully renewable energy is a clear demonstration of how we put our sustainability commitments into action.

In addition to its retail branches, BPI has also converted four corporate offices to operate on 100% green energy. The bank has expanded its facilities holding the IFC EDGE certification to 51 locations, showcasing significant improvements in energy and water efficiency.
On the lending side, BPI continues to expand its Sustainable Development Finance Programme, which currently backs 532 projects worth PHP 376 billion, focusing on energy efficiency and climate-friendly initiatives.
To further promote clean energy, BPI offers financing options for solar installations and loans for electric and hybrid vehicles. The bank has set a goal to completely exit coal power generation financing by 2032, aligning with global climate objectives.
