Binance, the global cryptocurrency exchange, is allegedly preparing to make a comeback in the Philippines by June 2026. This information comes from Arlone Abello, a Dubai-based crypto entrepreneur known as Coach Miranda Miner.

During a recent online broadcast, Abello claimed to have communicated directly with a Binance official. He stated that the exchange is finalizing the necessary requirements for its return.

The 'Backdoor' Entry

Abello explained that Binance does not intend to return under its brand name. Instead, the exchange will utilize a 'backdoor' strategy by partnering with an existing local company.

“Just to be clear, it’s not Binance that’s coming back. A Filipino company will be introduced, but Binance will be the one behind it.”

He projected that the official launch could occur between June 19 and 21, 2026, adding that there are only a few remaining steps before finalizing the deal.

Previous Attempts and Local Dynamics

As of now, neither Binance nor Philippine regulatory bodies like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) have confirmed this partnership or any plans for a licensed return.

Acquiring or partnering with a local Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) has been a common approach for global exchanges in heavily regulated markets, which Binance has previously considered.

In 2022, after the BSP halted new VASP license applications, a former Binance executive indicated plans to acquire a local entity with existing licenses.

Regulatory Challenges

The speculation of Binance's return follows the Philippine government's successful efforts to block the platform just two years ago. The SEC issued an advisory against Binance in late 2023, resulting in local internet service providers being instructed to block access to the exchange's website.

Subsequent measures included geo-blocking the Binance mobile application from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, restricting its access in the country.
