The Pentagon has started to release fresh files concerning UFOs, officially termed 'unidentified anomalous phenomena' (UAPs). This initiative allows the public to form their own interpretations of the information provided.
In a statement on X, the Pentagon emphasized that unlike prior administrations, President Donald Trump aims for maximum transparency regarding these files. The release will occur in phases.
The effort is a collaboration among various government bodies, including the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Energy Department, NASA, and the FBI.
New Documents and Eyewitness Accounts
A newly launched website features these documents, presenting them in a nostalgic style reminiscent of past military reports. The initial batch consists of 162 files, encompassing old State Department cables, FBI records, and NASA transcripts.
The object was visible for five to ten seconds and then the light went out and the object vanished.
FBI Interview with Drone Pilot
One notable document includes an FBI interview with a drone pilot who reported seeing a bright 'linear object' in the sky in September 2023. The pilot described the light as intense enough to reveal bands within it.
Another intriguing item is a NASA image from the Apollo 17 mission, which shows three dots in a triangular arrangement. The Pentagon noted that while there is no consensus on the object's nature, preliminary analysis suggests it could be a physical object.
Trump has hinted at the announcement since February, previously releasing documents related to high-profile assassinations that yielded little new information.
Ongoing Push for Transparency
The Pentagon's efforts to declassify UFO-related documents have been ongoing for several years. In 2022, Congress established an office dedicated to this purpose, leading to the release of a 2024 report that uncovered numerous new UAP incidents, albeit without confirming any sightings of extraterrestrial technology.
Some congressional members have called for increased transparency, alleging that the Pentagon has withheld certain documents. Representative Anna Paulina Luna has publicly requested the release of 46 UAP videos identified by whistleblowers.
Representative Tim Burchett expressed gratitude to Trump for his commitment to transparency but cautioned that the process of disclosure will unfold gradually.
Experts have advised caution regarding the interpretation of UAP files, warning that many videos may be misunderstood by those lacking knowledge of advanced military technology. The Pentagon’s latest report dispelled claims of recovered alien technology or confirmed evidence of extraterrestrial life.
