In response to severe flooding caused by the southwest monsoon, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has mobilized disaster response teams to Central Luzon and Metro Manila.

On Saturday, troops were deployed to assist local government units in rescue operations and the distribution of relief supplies. Areas like Barangay 176-A in Caloocan saw the evacuation of 74 families, totaling 296 individuals.
In collaboration with barangay officials, AFP personnel facilitated the evacuation of residents from flood-prone areas to safer locations.
In Marikina City, the military worked alongside local responders to move residents to Malanday Elementary School and other designated evacuation centers.
The AFP also provided essential supplies, including food and 3,000 bottles of mineral water, to families temporarily residing at the school.
As the monsoon's impact continues, the AFP remains vigilant, monitoring water levels and coordinating further rescue and relief efforts with local agencies.
