Pagasa reports that Maymay is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching 80 kph, and is slowly moving southeast. The storm is projected to make landfall in Ilocos Sur or La Union by Wednesday afternoon or evening.
Areas under Signal No. 1 include Ilocos Norte, the rest of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and several others across northern Luzon.

Following its landfall, Maymay is expected to weaken into a tropical depression by Thursday morning, with further downgrading possible later that day.
