Severe Tropical Storm Domeng has slightly intensified over the Philippine Sea, with maximum sustained winds increasing to 100 kilometers per hour as of May 30, 2026, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The storm, located 875 kilometers east of Northern Luzon and moving northwest at 20 km/h, is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing scattered rain and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

By Saturday evening or Sunday morning, Domeng could intensify into a typhoon.

PAGASA has indicated that Domeng may become a typhoon by the end of the weekend, with potential maximum sustained winds ranging from 118 to 184 km/h.
The southwest monsoon, already in effect, will see increased rainfall across several provinces. PAGASA issued a rainfall advisory for moderate to heavy rain expected in Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique, among others.
Safety Advisory and Conditions
As Domeng remains far from land, the likelihood of raising tropical cyclone wind signals is considered low. However, PAGASA has not dismissed the possibility of issuing warnings for extreme Northern Luzon.
The storm's periphery will generate strong to gale-force gusts in various regions, particularly in parts of Visayas and Luzon, causing dangerous sea conditions.
Domeng is anticipated to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by June 1, marking the fourth tropical cyclone for the country in 2026.
