Hearthstone has launched its latest expansion, Reign of the Black Empire, expanding the game with 135 new cards and innovative mechanics.

A Darker Tone for Hearthstone

The expansion introduces the Assemble keyword, enabling players to create custom minions by combining card texts from a curated pool. This feature adds depth to deck-building, allowing for creative strategies.

Players can also engage with the Old Gods—C’Thun, Yogg-Saron, N’Zoth, and Y’Shaarj—who return in their full power for an epic clash against Aman’Thul and the Titans.

Players can pledge allegiance to only one of the four Old Gods in their deck to unleash their power.

  • 135 new cards introduced
  • Assemble keyword for custom minion creation
  • Old Gods return for epic battles
  • New Tavern Rewards system
  • Expanded Hearthstone Journal feature

Another significant addition is the Tavern Rewards system, which allows players to earn Tavern Tender through eligible purchases in the Hearthstone Battle.net Shop. This currency can be exchanged for various in-game items such as card packs and hero skins.

The expansion also revamps the Rewards Track, where players can claim exclusive cards and reach new deck recipes featuring the latest cards.

New Features Enhance Gameplay Experience

A new feature called Journey integrates stories, quests, and seasonal activities into the Hearthstone Journal. Players can explore narratives through voiced vignettes and complete Journey Quests for additional rewards.

This expansion's dark themes are rooted in Hearthstone's lore, as the Old Gods previously established their dominion over Azeroth before being defeated by the Titans.

Notably, Blizzard has announced a crossover event with the *Diablo* franchise, celebrating its 30th anniversary. This limited-time event will offer exclusive rewards and themed content.

As players delve into Reign of the Black Empire, they will discover a wealth of new strategies and lore, reflecting Hearthstone's commitment to evolving its gameplay experience.
