The UAAP golf tournament has officially commenced at Tagaytay Midlands, with De La Salle University emerging as the team to beat in this much-anticipated Season 88.
La Salle enters the competition after a successful run in last year's ICTSI Intercollegiate Tournament, but they face stiff competition from Ateneo, UP, UST, and Adamson.
The 72-hole aggregate gross stroke play format will unfold over four rounds, with teams fielding three to four players each day, and the best three scores contributing to the team total.
Format and Competition Details
Only players who complete all four rounds will be eligible for individual honors. The tournament is also highlighted by the second ICTSI Intercollegiate Tournament, featuring 18 teams.
Powerhouses La Salle and Ateneo lead the men's division, joined by Enderun Colleges, Mapúa University, San Beda University, and College of Saint Benilde.
In the women's division, traditional rivals La Salle and Ateneo are set to clash against St. Benilde, Enderun, and Mapúa.
The tournament promises a compelling mix of pedigree and parity, where no lead is ever truly safe.
