The UAAP golf tournament officially launches its inaugural season at Tagaytay Midlands on Monday, showcasing De La Salle as the early favorite for the title.

Despite De La Salle's strong reputation, fierce competition awaits from Ateneo, UST, UP, and Adamson, all eager to disrupt their dominance.

Coming off a successful run at last year’s ICTSI Intercollegiate Tournament, De La Salle enters the four-day event with both momentum and high expectations.

The challenging Midlands course is expected to test each team's skills and strategy, making it a true battleground for collegiate golfers.

Tournament Format and Teams

The competition spans 72 holes over four rounds, with each round consisting of 18 holes. Teams will submit the best three scores from their roster of four to six players.

Only players completing all rounds will be eligible for individual awards, adding an extra layer of challenge.

The tournament also coincides with the second ICTSI Intercollegiate Tournament, featuring 18 teams, including 13 in the men's division.

Ateneo, along with other institutions like Enderun Colleges, Mapua University, and San Beda University, are fielding strong lineups, with each school entering two teams.

Women’s Division Showdown

In the women's category, La Salle and Ateneo are poised for a fierce rivalry, also facing St. Benilde, Enderun, and Mapua.

La Salle's Julia Lua, who excelled in the previous ICTSI tournament, will lead her team alongside fellow archers ready to defend their title.

On the men's side, De La Salle's squad, featuring Zachary Castro and Jacob Cajita, aims to replicate last year’s success.

Rising Competitors

Ateneo and UP, both with experience from last year’s tournament, are prepared to challenge La Salle’s reign, while UST and Adamson have made significant improvements.

Ateneo's lineup includes Gian de Castro and Juan Antonio Escano Jr., while UP counters with a formidable team led by Joshua Buenaventura.

The competition is fierce this year, and we're excited to showcase our skills at such a prestigious event.
