Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is listed as 'questionable' for the NBA second-round opener against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. The star player is dealing with a left knee injury sustained during the first round.
Edwards hyperextended his left knee and suffered a bone bruise in game four against the Denver Nuggets, causing him to miss the following two games. His absence did not hinder the Timberwolves, who advanced in the playoffs.
According to ESPN, Edwards participated in light workouts over the weekend and traveled with the team to San Antonio. Sources indicate there is increasing optimism regarding his potential return.
Prior to this injury, Edwards was also managing a right knee issue that had limited his play late in the regular season. His presence on the court would significantly strengthen Minnesota's chances against the second-seeded Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama.
Compounding the Timberwolves' challenges, Donte DiVincenzo will be sidelined for the remainder of the playoffs due to a ruptured right Achilles tendon. Additionally, guard Ayo Dosunmu, who scored 43 points in a pivotal game three against the Nuggets, is listed as questionable with a sore right calf.
