In an intense championship match, Silverio overcame Erick Silverio of Manila Times with a score of 7-2, despite starting with a three-ball handicap of 5-7-9. This victory marks a significant achievement, especially as she was the only female in the Class A category.
- Jojo Perez from Pilipino Star won the Class B category.
- 22 journalists participated, representing Metro Manila, Zambales, Pampanga, and Bulacan.
Eloisa’s journey to the finals included wins against notable competitors such as veteran journalist Joseph Parafina (6-4), last year’s champion Sam Nielsen (6-3), and radio commentator Archie Jimenez (6-5). Despite an early loss to Erick Silverio, she fought her way back through the losers' bracket.
Jojo Perez, the Class B champion, secured his title by narrowly defeating Maverick Marcelo of Radyo Bandera, ending with a tight score of 6-5.
Prizes were awarded across both categories, with Eloisa Silverio receiving a trophy and P10,000, while the first runner-up earned P6,000, the second runner-up P4,000, and the third runner-up P2,000.
Organized by Centro News, an online and local print news outlet, the tournament saw support from local government officials including Governor Daniel Fernando, Vice Governor Alexis Castro, and Malolos City Mayor Christian Natividad.
