The La Salle Lady Spikers completed a perfect season, finishing 16-0 and winning the UAAP women's volleyball championship. They secured the title with a decisive victory against the NU Lady Bulldogs, winning in straight sets: 25-22, 25-16, 25-16.
Head coach Ramil de Jesus emphasized the importance of overcoming past disappointments, particularly from Season 76 when the team lost in the finals after an unbeaten elimination round. This time, the Lady Spikers delivered.
Angel Canino and Shevana Laput were instrumental in the final match, with Laput scoring a game-high 20 points and Canino contributing 11 points along with stellar defensive plays.
With this victory, La Salle not only prevented NU from achieving a third consecutive title but also avenged their previous finals loss to the Lady Bulldogs last season.
This championship marks La Salle's 13th in women's volleyball, making them the third-most successful team in UAAP history, all under the guidance of De Jesus.
