In a convincing display of skill, Indonesia defeated Alas Pilipinas in straight sets, 25-20, 25-23, 27-25, at the Candon City Arena on Friday. This victory propelled the Indonesian team into the semifinals of the SEA V Cup.

With this win, Indonesia topped Pool A with a perfect 2-0 record. Meanwhile, Cambodia also advanced with a 1-1 record. Alas Pilipinas must now prepare for a classification match against Myanmar, which finished at the bottom of Pool B.

Key Players Shine for Indonesia

I’m very proud of this team. Because they fought for every point.

Angiolino Frigoni, Coach of Alas Pilipinas

Rama Fazza Fauzan and Boy Arnez Arabi were instrumental in Indonesia's success, contributing 13 and 11 points, respectively. Fauzan's performance included 11 attacks, a block, and an ace, while all of Arabi's points came from attacks.

Despite the loss, Coach Frigoni expressed pride in his team's effort, highlighting that this new squad consists of only four players from last year’s FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship team.

Frigoni emphasized the importance of growth over immediate results, stating, "We are not here to win, we are here to improve." He acknowledged the challenges faced by a team with many players experiencing international competition for the first time.

Looking ahead, the Asian Games are just two months away, and Frigoni remains optimistic about the team's potential for improvement.
