Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Patrick Gregorio has publicly questioned Ateneo de Manila University men's basketball head coach Tab Baldwin's silence following the tragic deaths of team members Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili during a team-building event.
Gregorio Calls for Respect and Accountability
Where is Tab Baldwin? Why is he still not speaking up?

Gregorio emphasized that the incident transcends university boundaries, deeming it a national concern. He urged Baldwin to come forward, stating, "Out of respect for the family and the Filipino people, he has to come forward."
Despite Baldwin's decade-long tenure with the Blue Eagles and significant achievements, including multiple UAAP championships, he has not publicly addressed the incident.
Gregorio expressed confusion over Baldwin's failure to engage with the cultural expectations of respect and empathy, stating, "I don't understand why he can't understand our culture — konting respeto at pakikipagkapwa naman."
In light of the tragedy, the PSC announced it would provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased and advocate for reforms aimed at enhancing safety measures for student-athletes.
