Cebu City is buzzing as Fist of Fury 10: The Eliminator approaches. Scheduled for Saturday, May 9, the event will feature a pivotal IBF world minimumweight title eliminator between Cebu's Ian Paul Abne and China's DianXing Zhu.

Both fighters successfully weighed in on Friday. Abne tipped the scales at 104 pounds, while Zhu came in at the limit of 105 pounds. The weigh-in was overseen by IBF ratings chairman Ben Keilty and promoter Lorenzo 'Chao' Sy.

During the final press conference, both boxers expressed confidence in achieving a knockout victory. Zhu stated he aims to return to China as the mandatory challenger for IBF champion Pedro Taduran.

I am confident enough to win by knockout. I will win this fight.

In contrast, Abne, who boasts an unbeaten record of 12-0, emphasized his preparation over predictions. He aims to give his best in the ring.

I won’t dwell on who gets knocked out. I will just give everything I can to win this fight.

Promoter Sy highlighted the significance of the fight, hoping the winner will challenge for the IBF title and bring major boxing events back to Cebu.

I will try my best to revive boxing here in Cebu. If given the chance, I would love to host a world championship fight here.

The bout adds excitement as reigning champion Pedro Taduran will be watching closely, scouting for his next opponent.

The event will also feature a packed undercard, including title fights for Jimuel Aranas and John Paul Gabunilas.
