Dillon Brooks, a forward for the Phoenix Suns, has been charged with driving under the influence related to a March incident in Scottsdale, Arizona.

According to online court records, his initial court date is set for October 28, where he will address the Class 1 misdemeanor charge.

This charge stems from the incident last March.

Stacey Mitch, Suns Senior VP of Communications
  • Brooks was arrested during a traffic stop on March 6 at approximately 1 a.m.
  • He was released from jail around 3:30 a.m. after booking.

At the time of the incident, Brooks was sidelined due to a fractured left hand. Despite this injury, he enjoyed a successful season, averaging 20.2 points per game.

In the offseason, he signed a lucrative three-year extension worth $73 million, securing his place with the Suns through 2030.

In addition to the DUI charge, Brooks faces separate misdemeanor charges for reckless driving and speeding from an arrest in January, with that court date scheduled for November 9.

These legal challenges come at a critical time for Brooks and the Suns as they prepare for the upcoming NBA season.
