The Damosa Land 5150 Triathlon Samal and Sunrise Sprint successfully launched at Bridgeport, attracting more than 1,100 participants from 14 countries. This significant event took place from September 18 to 20, 2026, in the Island Garden City of Samal.
A New Era for Sports Tourism in Samal
The 5150 triathlon gives Samal an opportunity to be recognized internationally for hosting big races and as an emerging tourist destination.

- 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run for the 5150 event.
- 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run for the Sunrise Sprint.
Presented by TRYP by Wyndham Samal, the triathlon weekend featured an Olympic-distance race alongside the shorter Sunrise Sprint, designed to encourage newcomers into the world of multisport racing.
As part of a broader initiative, the Damosa Land 5150 serves as the concluding leg of the 5150 Islands of the Philippines campaign. The main race occurred on September 20, showcasing the natural beauty and athletic spirit of the region.
The event also included a fun run, the Coral Dash, on September 19, which united various running communities and seasoned marathoners.
Bridgeport, a 13-hectare development in Barangay Caliclic, offers a picturesque marina lifestyle. It is strategically located near the upcoming Samal Island–Davao City Connector bridge, set for completion in 2028.
