Alfonso, Cavite is gearing up for its entry into the Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour (MPPT), as announced by Mayor Randy Salamat.
On June 17, 2026, Salamat signed a partnership agreement with key officials from MPPT, including CEO Joseph Ramos and legal officer Atty. Glenn Gacal.
We are proud to announce that Alfonso has officially joined the MPPT. We are the first and only MPPT franchise in the Upland South, particularly in upland Cavite, putting Alfonso on the national pickleball map.

The MPPT, led by boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, aims to elevate the profile of pickleball in the Philippines. The pre-season is scheduled to begin in October 2026.
- Teams from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will participate.
- The league offers a prize pool of at least P5 million.
Salamat is encouraging local pickleball enthusiasts to join upcoming team tryouts and tournaments, highlighting opportunities for residents to showcase their skills.
The inaugural season will feature a five-leg tournament format, where each team will consist of three men and three women. Matches will include men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
Round-robin matches will take place on Saturdays, leading to knockout rounds on Sundays.
Pacquiao, who previously founded the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), expressed his commitment to promoting sports and nurturing local talent.
The MPPT seeks to provide a platform for up-and-coming athletes to represent their communities, enhancing the sport's visibility in the country.
