More than 200 families from the Bagong Pag-asa Neighborhood Association in Barangay Parada, Valenzuela City, are now on the path to land ownership. This development comes as part of the expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, a key housing initiative under the Marcos administration.

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) facilitated this assistance through the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP). This program allocated over PHP9 million for land acquisition and related taxes, marking a turning point for the residents.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and Social Housing Finance Corporation President Federico Laxa officiated the ceremonial awarding. Residents expressed their gratitude, emphasizing that owning their land means more than just property; it restores dignity and security to their lives.
Robert Salabao, a local hospital worker, shared his excitement: "To be honest, we have long dreamed of owning this land. This is where we grew up and started our own families." His sentiments reflect the broader aspirations of residents who have lived in uncertainty for years.
The ECMP, launched in July 2025, has already approved 45 projects nationwide, benefiting over 7,700 families. This expansion of the 4PH Program aims to not only provide homes but also to enhance the quality of life for low-income Filipinos.
