A tribal conflict has erupted in San Fernando, Bukidnon, following the elopement of a woman with a man from a rival family. This incident has prompted local authorities to suspend classes in four schools.
Military Deployed to Ensure Safety
To maintain peace and safety, Army troops have been dispatched to secure students in the affected areas. The conflict stems from a declaration of pangayaw, a traditional retaliatory conflict, made by armed individuals from the neighboring town of Talaingod, Davao del Norte.
Our officials are taking the declaration of a pangayaw seriously and have implemented measures to protect our residents, especially the school children.
