The Supreme Court (SC) dismissed the impeachment petitions filed by According to the Court, the transmission signified the conclusion of the House of Representatives' role in the impeachment process, allowing the Senate to convene as an impeachment court.

The House's transmittal of the Articles of Impeachment marked the end of the House's role in the impeachment process and the initiation of the impeachment case.

As the Senate begins its proceedings, the Court noted that any ruling on the legality of actions taken by the House Committee on Justice would lack practical legal effect.

This decision eliminates the final judicial challenge against the House's proceedings, giving the Senate exclusive jurisdiction to try and resolve impeachment cases as stipulated in the Constitution.

In a separate ruling issued the same day, the SC granted writs of amparo and habeas data to human rights advocate Rey A. Gorgonio and three others, signaling its commitment to protecting rights amidst ongoing challenges.
