Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III has expressed his support for issuing a show-cause order against Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa, who is under scrutiny for his repeated absences in the Senate.
Sotto stated that Dela Rosa should explain his absence in response to an ethics complaint filed by the civil society group 'Wag Kang KuCorrupt'.
The Senate ethics committee, led by Senator JV Ejercito, is scheduled to convene to discuss the matter further.
I suggest that Sen. Bato be asked to provide an explanation—essentially, to show cause why we should not follow or give in to the complaint.

The complaint, lodged in February, claims that Dela Rosa's absence constitutes a serious dereliction of duty and a misuse of the privileges granted to him by the public.
Dela Rosa has not attended Senate sessions since a warrant of arrest from the International Criminal Court (ICC) was reported last November. He is implicated in allegations of crimes against humanity linked to the previous administration's controversial drug war.
