Senator Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa's office has confirmed the delivery of a subpoena by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) regarding alleged extrajudicial killings.
However, the senator's staff did not sign the document, stating they were not authorized to do so.
A staff member communicated this development, stating, "Hi, the CIDG came to our office earlier and they did leave a copy of the subpoena. We didn’t officially receive it because we are not authorized and there were no instructions from Sen. Bato."
CIDG Considers Subpoena Served
Police Capt. Larry Ray, who delivered the subpoena, explained that the CIDG considers the document served since the office accepted the copy.
They received the copy but did not sign because they said that was their instruction. On our part, it is deemed received because they accepted it. It is now up to them whether it reaches Sen. Bato or their lawyer.

Ray also warned of potential legal repercussions if Dela Rosa does not comply with the subpoena, stating, "We’ll see what happens. Mostly, we know that if you do not comply with a subpoena, you may be cited for indirect contempt."
The subpoena requires Dela Rosa to appear at Camp Crame in Quezon City on May 14. He must provide a sworn statement and submit related documents for the investigation.
This investigation pertains to alleged extrajudicial killings in the Davao Region, linked to congressional hearings and statements from former police officer Arturo Lascañas.
Since November 2025, Dela Rosa has not been attending Senate sessions following reports of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court connected to the Duterte administration's anti-drug campaign.
