The Senate ethics panel is currently awaiting a response from Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa about a proposed 'no work, no pay' policy.
Senator JV Ejercito confirmed that the committee has reached out to Dela Rosa as part of an effort to amend Senate rules related to absenteeism.
Ejercito explained that Dela Rosa's input is vital since the proposal directly relates to an ethics complaint filed against him.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III indicated that he would suggest Dela Rosa be required to explain his absences.
Dela Rosa has not attended Senate sessions since November 2025, following reports of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.
The proposed rule aims to address concerns about absenteeism and ensure accountability among senators.
