Senator Robin Padilla confirmed on social media that he will not run in the 2028 National Elections, a shift from his previous openness to being Vice President Sara Duterte's running mate.
In his post, Padilla cited the importance of family, stating, "My children are still young, and a quiet Islamic life is what I dream and aspire to have."

It is obvious I do not fit in this world,” Padilla stated, expressing his gratitude for the support he received.

He suggested several individuals who might be suitable candidates for the vice-presidential position alongside Duterte. These include:

- Rodante Marcoleta
- Salvador Panelo, former legal counsel to Rodrigo Duterte
