During a recent graft trial, a Sandiganbayan justice lightened the mood with a joke about Piattos snack boxes. This occurred while discussing a significant cash delivery linked to a corruption case involving former Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla.

The trial examined allegations surrounding a ghost project in Pandi, Bulacan, where P299 million was reportedly delivered to former Public Works Assistant District Engineer Brice Hernandez.

Sally Santos, the owner of SYMS Construction, testified about the cash delivery. She confirmed that around 25 boxes were used to carry the money, including boxes from grocery stores that typically hold Piattos.

Associate Justice Arthur Malabago quipped, "That’s not Mary Grace, right?" referencing a previous discussion about an unrelated name that had surfaced in connection with alleged misuse of confidential funds.

Ocampo-Santos, a liaison officer for SYMS Construction, had earlier provided testimony regarding the same delivery. She noted her familial ties to Santos and Hernandez, emphasizing the close connections involved in the case.

This lighthearted exchange in court provided a brief respite from the serious nature of the proceedings, which continue to draw public interest due to the high-profile individuals involved.
