Senator Raffy Tulfo has officially announced that he will not be seeking the presidency or vice presidency in the upcoming 2028 elections. His declaration follows a recent Pulse Asia survey indicating a tie with Vice President Sara Duterte at 46 percent.
Tulfo expressed gratitude for the public's trust but reiterated his commitment to serve as a senator. He stated, "I have no plans to run for president in 2028," emphasizing his satisfaction with his current role.
Final Decision on Higher Office
When asked if he would reconsider his decision given his favorable ratings, Tulfo responded with a definitive "Final answer." He underscored that even if his approval ratings soared, his stance would remain unchanged.
Even if it goes all the way up to the heavens, the answer is still no.

Tulfo explained that he prefers to focus on his responsibilities as a senator rather than pursuing a higher office. He remarked, "I don’t want to make the same mistakes that other elected officials made."
He also dismissed the idea of a vice presidential bid, reaffirming his contentment with his current position in the Senate.
This is not the first time Tulfo has distanced himself from the prospect of running for higher office. Just last month, he reiterated that he would not pursue the presidency or vice presidency now or in the future.
