The Philippine National Police (PNP) has taken custody of six more firearms registered to Senator Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa, raising the total number of firearms surrendered to 26. This action follows the revocation of dela Rosa's License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF), which has been under scrutiny since an arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Details of the Firearm Turnover

The latest firearms were voluntarily surrendered by the senator's legal representative on June 22, 2026, at his residence in Silang, Cavite. The PNP Firearms and Explosives Office facilitated the turnover, ensuring compliance with established procedures for the temporary safekeeping of the firearms.

This handover follows a prior transfer of 20 firearms on June 11 in Davao City. The total of 26 firearms now in police custody represents a portion of the 117 firearms registered under dela Rosa's name, which remain unaccounted for.

The Philippine National Police remains committed to carrying out its mandate in accordance with the law and established procedures. We will continue to perform our duties professionally, fairly, and with respect for the legal rights of everyone involved.

PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
  • Total firearms surrendered now stands at 26.
  • Initial turnover of 20 firearms occurred on June 11, 2026.
  • Dela Rosa's firearm licenses were revoked following an ICC warrant.

The revocation of dela Rosa's firearms license is part of the PNP's effort to enforce firearms regulations amid rising concerns related to the senator's role in the controversial anti-drug campaign during the Duterte administration. The ICC's warrant, made public in May 2026, alleges that dela Rosa was involved in unlawful killings between 2016 and 2018.
