The leaders witnessed the signing of four agreements designed to enhance collaboration across various sectors, including energy, tourism, culture, and labor.

Marcos underscored the significance of his visit, noting that Canada is increasing its engagement in the Indo-Pacific region. He emphasized the goal to finalize a free trade agreement by the end of the year.

The President highlighted the strong ties between the two nations, pointing out that nearly one million Filipinos currently reside and work in Canada. This demographic has played a crucial role in bolstering cultural and societal links.

We work from a very solid basis in our people-to-people relations, and the growing number of Filipinos who work and live in Canada are approaching a million now.
