An independent survey by OCTA Research indicates that 60% of Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of the Philippine National Police (PNP). The Tugon ng Masa poll, conducted from March 19 to 25, 2026, reveals 63% of respondents express trust in the police force.
Mindanao recorded the highest trust level at 74%, followed by the Visayas at 66%. Trust in Balance Luzon stood at 59%, while the National Capital Region (NCR) had the lowest at 54%.
According to socioeconomic classes, Class E members reported the highest trust at 83%, while Class D followed at 66%. Trust among Class ABC was significantly lower at 42%.
Diverse Satisfaction Levels Across Regions
The survey also noted that 61% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the PNP's job performance in early 2026. Mindanao again led with a 69% satisfaction rate, followed by the Visayas at 63%.
Balanced Luzon's satisfaction rate was 59%, while NCR trailed with 52%. Class D respondents showed the highest satisfaction at 65%, with Class E at 62% and Class ABC at 42%.
While distrust in the PNP was lower overall, it varied significantly by region. The Visayas reported the highest distrust at 22%, followed by Balance Luzon at 18%. NCR had a distrust rate of 16%, while Mindanao showed the least distrust at 15%.
The survey included 1,200 respondents and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.
