Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival Sr. expressed his hope that the President will focus on economic growth, infrastructure funding, food security, and disaster resilience.
In a press briefing, Archival noted the importance of continuous support from the national government for local government units, particularly through the Local Government Support Fund.
The economy is my first expectation, followed by infrastructure projects that will help develop our city.

Protests and Political Statements
As the SONA approaches, several protests are organized nationwide, reflecting public discontent with the current administration.
Five members of the Senate minority bloc, including Senators Imee Marcos and Alan Peter Cayetano, have announced their intention to boycott the address in protest of recent political events.

Security and Preparations
Prior to the SONA, security measures have been heightened around the Batasang Pambansa. An improvised explosive device was discovered near the Senate but was safely neutralized.
