Two lawmakers from Bohol recently expressed their reasons for voting against the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte. They stated that their decisions were based on the sentiments of their constituents.

Bohol 2nd District Rep. Maria Vanessa Aumentado emphasized that her vote was influenced by feedback received during public consultations in her district. She affirmed, "My vote is 'No,' guided by my commitment to listen to the voice and sentiments of the majority of my constituents in the second district of Bohol."

Joining her, Bohol 3rd District Rep. Kristine Alexie Besas-Tutor also voted against the impeachment. Tutor noted that her consultations revealed a strong desire among residents for the government to prioritize pressing issues. "This vote truly reflects the will of our people in the third district," she stated.

In contrast, Bohol 1st District Rep. John Geesnell Yap II supported the impeachment but did not provide an explanation for his vote.

On Monday, the House confirmed the impeachment of Duterte, with 257 members voting in favor of the motion. This marks the second time the Vice President has faced impeachment.
