Malacañang has stated that the recent surge in violence in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is unrelated to the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for September 14.
According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, the incidents stem from personal disputes rather than electoral tensions. This clarification comes as the government prepares to ensure security during the first parliamentary elections in the region.

Reports from the international conflict-monitoring group Climate Conflict Action Asia (CCAA) indicated that 235 people have died in violent incidents from January to July this year, raising concerns about safety ahead of the elections.
