The mission took place amidst ongoing tensions with China, highlighting the coalition's commitment to peaceful advocacy for territorial rights.
Akbayan Representative Dadah Kiram Ismula led the jetski ride, emphasizing the importance of such actions for the nation. She stated, "Because a Mindanaoan promised and took a jetski ride in the West Philippine Sea, another Mindanaoan and a woman today stood up to do this for our country."
The initiative, running from April 30 to May 5, includes delivering essential supplies like fuel and food, along with medical missions and cultural activities.
Supplies were distributed to local officials, including Kalayaan's Mayor Billy Alindogan and Vice Mayor MP Albayda, as well as to local fishermen.
Larry "King Fisher" Hugo, a representative of Pag-asa Island's fisherfolk, expressed gratitude for the support, stating that the provided fuel would significantly ease their financial burdens.
