The Atin Ito Coalition, a civilian-led group, has firmly rejected Chinese assertions aimed at deterring their activities in the West Philippine Sea. On May 1, during their fourth mission to Pag-asa Island, they emphasized that China has failed to intimidate them.
In a recent statement, the Chinese Embassy accused the coalition of conducting provocative actions under the guise of asserting Philippine sovereignty. The coalition responded, stating they are undeterred by such claims.
For us, it seems like China has failed. They have failed to scare us, intimidate us,” said Rafaela David, mission leader of Atin Ito.
David highlighted the coalition's achievements, including hosting the first 'Concert at Sea for Peace and Solidarity.' Their current voyage, named 'Balik-Pag-asa,' focuses on humanitarian efforts and community support.
The Atin Ito Coalition aims to normalize access for Filipinos to the West Philippine Sea and continues to return regularly despite external pressures.
