Philippine President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., who chaired the summit, emphasized the need for member countries to adopt innovative strategies to address immediate and future challenges.

The 'Lead, Sail, Rise' framework emerged from discussions among the 11 Asean member states, including Brunei, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It aims to reinforce the region's resilience and security while fostering economic collaboration.
May this afternoon’s exchange give us an opportunity to reflect on how we can move forward, not only in how we respond to immediate disruptions, but in how we can strengthen our institutions.

Addressing the economic impacts of global tensions, particularly in the Middle East, Marcos pointed out that these issues pose significant threats to energy and food security in the region.
The framework consists of three key components: 'Lead' focuses on building a resilient security community, 'Sail' emphasizes collaboration and innovation, and 'Rise' aims to foster a people-centered social and cultural community.
Marcos stated, 'Together, the framework translates Asean’s long-term vision into mutually reinforcing actions on peace, prosperity, and people in power.'
The summit concluded with a speech from Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who will assume the chairmanship in the upcoming year.
